VapoCept Side Effects: What Each Label Line Can Do
No study has tested VapoCept for side effects, and the bottle's warnings were not supplied to us. The known cautions come from the ingredients: arginine can lower blood pressure and is not recommended after a recent heart attack, beta-alanine can cause tingling at 800 mg or more (label: 40 mg), and niacin flushes at 30 to 50 mg of nicotinic acid or more.

Does VapoCept have side effects?
Any supplement can. We cannot list VapoCept's own side effects, because no study tested the finished capsule and the label warnings were not supplied.
What we can do is read the cautions for each ingredient and compare them with the label amounts. The amounts are small: 40 to 200 mg for the amino acid lines, 7.5 mg NE for niacin and 18 mg for calcium. Small does not mean risk-free, especially with medicines.
The FDA does not approve supplements before sale, and companies carry the duty to make them safe (FDA, Questions and answers on dietary supplements). That is why you should check with a pharmacist, not assume safety.

What are the side effects of each VapoCept ingredient?
Each line has a known caution at higher amounts. The label amount is a small fraction of those amounts, so we describe risks as lower, not absent.

Beta-alanine at 40 mg is 5% of the 800 mg tingling level, so tingling is unlikely, but we cannot promise it. The niacin form is not named in the files we have.

Is VapoCept safe with blood pressure medicine or other drugs?
Ask first. Arginine can lower blood pressure, and Mayo Clinic lists blood pressure drugs, nitrates and sildenafil-type drugs as combinations to discuss (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine).
Memorial Sloan Kettering adds blood thinners and similar drugs to the caution list (MSK, Arginine (About Herbs)). Citrulline also lowered blood pressure slightly in trials, at gram doses. No study tested these ingredients together, so we cannot predict the combined effect at the label amounts.
Blood pressure medicine
A second pressure-lowering effect is possible. Do not change your dose yourself.
Nitrates and sildenafil-type drugs
Both widen blood vessels. A pharmacist should check the pair.
Blood thinners
Flagged for arginine. Tell your prescriber before you start.

Who should not take VapoCept at all?
Anyone with a recent heart attack should not use arginine unless a cardiologist says so.
Mayo Clinic says arginine is not recommended after a recent heart attack because it might raise the risk of death (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). That caution rests on a trial of 153 survivors taking about 9 g a day: 6 deaths on arginine versus none on placebo, and the trial stopped early (VINTAGE MI trial, L-arginine after heart attack (ACC summary)).
The label has 200 mg of L-arginine and 200 mg of arginine AKG, about 4% of that trial dose even if both counted fully. We do not claim the label amount is dangerous. We say the caution exists and the decision belongs to your doctor.
A supplement is not a drug. Never stop a prescribed medicine to try one.

Can the niacin in VapoCept cause flushing or liver problems?
At 7.5 mg NE it is unlikely to flush, but the form of niacin is not named, so we cannot be sure.
Flushing usually starts at 30 to 50 mg or more of nicotinic acid, and the adult supplement upper limit is 35 mg (NIH ODS, Niacin (consumer)). The label amount is 21% of that limit and about 47% of the 16 mg NE adult male RDA, by our arithmetic.
Liver harm is a high-dose problem, with enzyme rises above 500 mg a day (LiverTox, Niacin). Add up niacin from a multivitamin or other supplements, and tell your doctor if you have liver disease.

When should you stop VapoCept and get medical help?
Stop and call a clinician for a bad reaction, such as a rash, swelling, dizziness, fainting or a pounding heartbeat. Call 911 for the signs below.
- Sudden confusion or speech troubleNew confusion, slurred speech or trouble understanding words that starts suddenly.
- Face drooping or one-sided weaknessA drooping face, a weak arm or leg on one side, or sudden vision loss in one eye.
- Memory loss that disrupts daily lifeForgetting recent events, repeating questions, getting lost in places you know, trouble with bills or cooking.
- After a head injury, or after a new medicineNew thinking changes after a fall, a blow to the head or a new prescription.
- Get emergency care nowSudden stroke signs need 911, not a supplement. Chest pain, fainting or a racing heart after starting a supplement also needs urgent care.

What are the side effects of VapoCept?

Is VapoCept safe to take every day?

We do not know. Arginine and citrulline lowered blood pressure at gram doses in trials. The label has 100 to 200 mg of each line, so the effect at that amount is unknown.
Can VapoCept cause tingling or flushing?
Tingling comes from beta-alanine at 800 mg or more, and the label has 40 mg. Flushing comes from 30 to 50 mg or more of nicotinic acid, and the label has 7.5 mg NE. Both are unlikely, not ruled out.
Can I take VapoCept with blood pressure pills?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist first. Arginine can add to the effect of blood pressure medicines, nitrates and sildenafil-type drugs. Keep taking your prescribed medicine.
Is VapoCept safe after a heart attack?
Arginine is not recommended after a recent heart attack. Ask your cardiologist before using any product that contains it.
What should I do if VapoCept makes me feel unwell?
Stop taking it and contact a clinician. Call 911 for emergency signs. You can report the reaction to the FDA and tell the seller by phone.
