L Citrulline and Blood Pressure: What Gram-Dose Studies Found
Two meta-analyses found oral L-citrulline lowered systolic blood pressure by about 4.1 to 4.5 mm Hg at gram doses, with a diastolic effect only at 6 g a day or more. The VapoCept panel lists citrulline HCl 100 mg and citrulline malate 100 mg, at most 3.3% of 6 g.

Does L-citrulline lower blood pressure?
At gram doses, two analyses found a small drop in systolic pressure.
One meta-analysis found oral citrulline lowered brachial systolic pressure by 4.49 mm Hg (Yang 2019, L-citrulline and blood pressure meta-analysis). Another, of 8 trials with 12 to 34 people each, found 4.10 mm Hg, with a diastolic drop of 2.75 mm Hg only in studies using 6 g a day or more (Citrulline and blood pressure meta-analysis (Avicenna J Phytomed)). Authors urged caution because trials were few and small.

Why is 100 mg a fraction of the studied amount?
Because the effects appeared at 6 g a day or more, and the panel lists far less.
The panel lists citrulline HCl 100 mg and citrulline malate 100 mg. One line is 1.7% of 6 g, and both together are at most 3.3% (our arithmetic; the citrulline content is lower than the salt weight). See the dose math page.

Can citrulline stack with blood pressure medicine?
Ask first, because it might add to the effect of the medicine.
No source we read lists citrulline interactions. It also lowered pressure in studies, and the body turns it into arginine, which Mayo Clinic says might lower pressure (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). We apply the same caution.
