How to Read a Supplement Facts Panel, Line by Line
Read a Supplement Facts panel from the top: serving size, then the amount of each ingredient, then percent Daily Value, then the other ingredients. The VapoCept panel, as listed in the brand's information, gives seven lines with amounts from 7.5 mg NE to 200 mg. Serving size and other ingredients were not supplied.

The layout01
What does a Supplement Facts panel actually show?
It shows what one serving contains: the serving size, each ingredient with its amount, and a percent of the daily need where one exists.
Below the table sits a line for other ingredients, such as capsule shells, fillers and flow agents. That line often tells you more about allergens than the table does.
The FDA does not approve supplement labels before sale, so the maker is responsible for the panel (FDA 101, Dietary supplements).
Reading order02
What should you check first on the panel?
Start with the serving size. Every number below it belongs to that serving, not to one capsule or one scoop.
| Part | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Serving size | Is a serving one capsule or several? |
| Amount per serving | Is each ingredient named with a weight? |
| Percent Daily Value | Does a daily need exist for this nutrient? |
| Form of the ingredient | Is it carbonate, citrate, HCl, malate or another salt? |
| Other ingredients | What fills the capsule besides the listed lines? |
Amino acids like arginine and citrulline have no percent Daily Value, so you compare their amounts with studies instead. A blend is different. The FDA's labeling guide says a blend shows one total weight with its ingredients listed beneath, heaviest first (FDA, Dietary supplement labeling guide ch. IV (proprietary blends)). That hides how much of each one you get.
Worked example03
What does the VapoCept panel show, and what is missing?
Seven lines, each with its own amount, so it is not a blend. Several label items were not supplied to us.
As listed in the brand's panel (check your bottle): niacin 7.5 mg NE, calcium 18 mg, L-arginine 200 mg, L-arginine AKG 200 mg, L-citrulline HCl 100 mg, L-citrulline malate 100 mg and beta-alanine 40 mg. The brand's information directs one capsule a day with 8 oz of water.
Not shown in the files we have: the serving size line, the other ingredients, percent Daily Values, the warnings and the distributor. Check your bottle for those. Tap a numbered spot to see how each part reads.
Tap a number to read that line of the bottle render. The Supplement Facts side of the bottle was not supplied.
- Wordmark
'VapoCept' in dark type over a brain-network graphic. This is a brand render, not a photo of a label.
- 'CLINICAL MEMORY RESTORATION'
The largest claim on the bottle render. No trial of VapoCept was found, so it is quoted here, not repeated. See the claims page.
- 'FOCUS | CLARITY | ENERGY'
Three words between two copper rules. No number or study stands behind them on the bottle.
- '30 CAPSULES - DIETARY SUPPLEMENT'
Confirms the capsule form and a 30-capsule bottle: 30 days at one capsule a day. It also says dietary supplement, not a drug.

What can you do with the numbers once you have read them?
Compare them with a daily need or a studied dose, then ask a pharmacist about your own medicines.
For example, 7.5 mg NE of niacin is 47% of the 16 mg NE adult male RDA, by our arithmetic. The amino acid lines are far below the gram doses in studies. The supplement facts page and the dose math page show those comparisons line by line.

FAQ05
VapoCept questions people ask
Why does a supplement panel list serving size first?
Every amount below it applies to that serving only. If a serving is two capsules and you take one, you get half the listed amounts. Read the serving line before comparing any number.
What is the difference between mg and mg NE on a label?
Mg NE means niacin equivalents, a unit that counts niacin and the niacin the body can make from tryptophan. It lets different forms be compared on one scale. Niacin is the only line that uses it.
Do amino acids have a percent Daily Value?
Usually not, because no official daily need has been set for arginine, citrulline or beta-alanine. That is why their amounts are compared with study doses, which run in grams, instead of with a daily percentage.
