Brain Supplement Price: How to Work Out the Cost Per Day

How do you compare brain supplement prices fairly?
Use cost per day. Pack price, divided by capsules, times capsules taken daily.
Two bottles can look alike on a shelf and differ in capsule count, in capsules per serving or in shipping. A 30-capsule bottle taken twice a day is only 15 days. Always check the serving, because NIH's office says side effects are likeliest at high doses (NIH ODS, Dietary supplements: what you need to know).
Cost per day still says nothing about whether the product works. It only tells you what you are paying for the habit.

Is the cheapest brain supplement the best value?
Not necessarily. A low price for a small dose can cost more per studied unit than it seems.
VapoCept lists arginine at 200 mg a capsule, about 5% of the 4,000 mg that blood pressure trials started at (Dong 2011, Oral L-arginine and blood pressure meta-analysis). A product cannot become good value just because it is cheap, and no source we found shows the finished product does anything for memory or focus.

How much does a brain supplement cost per month?
It ranges widely by product and serving. Divide the bottle price by its capsule count, then multiply by your daily capsules and by 30. Add shipping and check for repeat charges before you compare.
Is a more expensive brain supplement better?
Price does not show quality or results. Compare the label dose with the studied dose and ask whether the finished product has any trial behind it. A higher price can simply reflect marketing.
